After years of speculation, the power couple tied the knot in an intimate ceremony attended by close friends and family.
In a move that surprised fans worldwide, actors Chris Evans and Ana de Armas announced today that they secretly tied the knot last weekend in an intimate ceremony at Evans' Massachusetts family home.
The couple, who met on the set of "Knives Out" in 2019 but only began dating last year, managed to keep their relationship largely out of the public eye despite their A-list status. Their representatives confirmed the news after photos of the pair wearing wedding bands surfaced online.
"Chris and Ana are thrilled to share that they are married," the statement read. "They celebrated privately with their closest friends and family and ask for privacy as they begin this new chapter together."
According to sources close to the couple, the ceremony was attended by fewer than 50 guests, including Evans' "Avengers" co-stars Robert Downey Jr. and Scarlett Johansson, as well as de Armas' family who flew in from Cuba.
"It was a beautiful, low-key event," shared one attendee who requested anonymity. "They wrote their own vows, and there wasn't a dry eye in the place. It was about love, not spectacle."
The wedding featured locally-sourced food, minimal decorations consisting mostly of wildflowers from the property, and the couple's dogs were part of the ceremony. Instead of gifts, the pair asked guests to donate to the Christopher's Haven charity, which provides housing for families whose children are receiving cancer treatment.
Evans, known for his role as Captain America in the Marvel franchise, and de Armas, who received an Oscar nomination for her portrayal of Marilyn Monroe in "Blonde," are currently working on separate projects but plan to take a brief honeymoon before returning to their filming schedules.
Fans have flooded social media with congratulations, with the hashtag #MrandMrsEvans trending worldwide within hours of the announcement.
